Played a lot of rubbish today 32 points , 2 temp greens so course in decent nick. After hitting my irons great last week struggled a bit with them today ,chipped and putted well but the good thing today was my driving ,tried a G15 with the Aldila shaft and after i tested it before i wasn't too enamoured by it but today i hit hit really well, even tho the conditions weren't great .My mate reckoned i was hiting it longer and easier than my 909 so we'll see in the next couple of weeks if i change.
I had wanted to try the Ping shaft but our pro didn't have one in stock.
no i shot a 76 at a course i played for the first time back in october. its the first time ive broke 80 at my place.
i think ive won not sure, heard the best in before mine was 44 points.
Didn't make the course today, thick fog hanging around that wouldn't shift all day.
Went up to Kings Acre range this afternoon. There were folks out on the course in all the mist. For those that know the course, at the short par3 14th along the road, you couldn't see the green from the tee when I passed by. Its only a 6 iron !!
Supposed to be playing a winter tie in the morning, we'll see
Played with HTL today and he beat me up 4&3 (but we won the rugby). First time out with the new set up (see ask the experts for a video of the improving swing) and it was hard to trust it early on. Neither of us set the world alight score wise but if he could putt he'd be dangerous off his handicap. He munched some pretty big drives (250 on one hole all carry - it plugged). I was my usual mixture of decent and stupendously bad. My short game was abysmal which was unusual for me
If HTL could putt.......... What, if I was a millionnaire, or if I drove a ferrari, or if Tiger was celibate, or if Gordon Brown had a clue how to run the country....
No you're right he can't chip but there again nor could I today so I'm keeping very quiet on that particular aspect. I might even video a few chips and let the masses descend. There should be plenty to pick on
BANDIT ! i got called that a lot after the round back in the bar lol.
no but in all honesty i was hitting the ball like i normally do when im on the range, i just havent been able to do it for a full round at my home course before. good front nine or good back nine but not together.
ive shot 6, 7 etc over before at different course's but im over the moon ive done it at my home course. it makes the 250 balls a night every night at the range worth while.
aim now is single figures this season.
boosh all that work has finally paid off and you know" you only get back what you put in "you only get called a bandit by a player thats jealous, had a worse round than you,and puts no time on the range.
true true, just need to work on the short game and putting more. just got to persuade my girlfriend to let me get one of the huxley golf putting greens for the house.
lol
played today and had a below average front 9,dropped 11 shots but really relaxed and enjoyed a back 9 only dropping 2 shots, ended up 6 under so was fairly happy, medal tomorrow so all being well can reproduce the goods
great shooting! i played yesterday also managed 82 and 36 stableford points on an away course, which i was quite happy with considering my current form.Well played you though, single figures no probs!
Played yesterday in a knock around with a few mates in very foggy conditions and had a 'Mare.
Played this morning in a 14 hole stableford comp and had 26 points for the finish......Not exceptional shooting i know but seeing as i havent hit a ball since Dec the 28th i cant complain too much.
