needing a new Telly and it's maybe boiling down to a Panny 50GT50 or the Samsung PS51E6500

The sammy is about £450 cheaper than the Panny but you get what you pay for...........or do you in this case.

Anyone got either and can comment?

Or what do you have that has excellent SD PQ as well as stunning HD?

for deep blacks and motion blur it has to be Plasma lads sorry, that's just technical facts re quality.

Out of interest which ones do you have and I'll do the research....as you never know:smirk:

I have a panny 42" plasma, 5 years old and still going strong, full HD although it was 3k new (I paid 160 quid 3 years ago haha)

My tv before it was plasma aswell so I am a definite fan of plasma, the pic quality is much better than lcd/led imho, my 2 boys have led and they are inbferior, one is samsung the other hitachi, both 37" and nowhere near as good as the main tv!

I have a three year old lg he ready lol

Plasma has problems with yellowing and also when transporting etc. full LED is the only way I'd go.

yellowing you mention was phospherous trails and transporting gases are a thing of the past, as is plasma burn.

so, asking again, what one do you have?

As you're clearly an expert...decide for yourself. Don't come on here and ask for opinions, try avforums if you want a technical breakdown!

Oh dear, what a very unhelpful and inflammatory post, you clearly don't get the forum concept, nor know what LCD you have.

If you already have a plasma screen from Panasonic then thats what I'd stick with... I believe you get accustomed to the look/feel of the presentation each screen type [and manufacturer] presents and if you are happy with it why change... At work on the digital imaging side of the business they use monitors from Sony [amongst others] and I still prefer the 'look' of my panny plasma...

I have a Panasonic Vierra, and when looking for a new tv this one was the best I could afford. I could have gone bigger with cheaper makes, but as I am a fussy git prefer top quality rather than size. I would recommend it to anyone.
