Pitch marks

Repair a pitch mark? If only ... Would love to make one so that I could.

The guy in the vid has the right technique of pulling the turf in - but it would be better if he was using a pitchmark repair tool rather than a tee. A tee is more likely to tear the turf than is a proper tool - and as he says, what you're after, is stretching the turf.

I do all the ones on my part of the green that the old guys cant/dont repair. I used to think it was non members being lazy but I was advised that its the old folk who cant/dont bend down..... It is stagging how many people dont do it.

Typical, anything that seems to go wrong on a golf course, blame it on the old folk. Sorry but it is too easy!!! Look around a bit, we come from an era that was taught to be polite and tidy. Rant over.

We get a lot of green fees/Groupons at one of my courses so typically I am faced with several on each and every green (even though i have normally missed it ).

I try and repair 2-3 whilst playing partners line up their putts etc.

I wonder why more clubs dont something very simple at the desk when people are paying/checking in. ask the golfers if they all have pitch-mark repairers as the green keepers are very keen to keep the putting surfaces as fast and true for all you golfer, as we knoe you enjoy them that way.

If they havent then have some cheap plastic ones and give (not sell) them to the group leader along with some scorecards etc. Ask if they knwo how to use them and if not ehn give them a quick demo (or ask a member to). i knwo clubs wont do this but if they spen a few quid a year on this then i have no doubt that their greens would improve, in my opinion people dont repair them because they dont have the tools and dont know how to do it, they dont want to look silly so just ignore them.

At what age allegedly do people go from repairing their pitchmarks to not repairing them? If someone isn't doing it now isn't it more likely they've never done it whatever age they were at the time?

How come, if everyone on here is fixing 2,3 or 4 every time they set foot on a green, there are any left at all....?

To be honest it's a problem at almost every course....

54 + 3/4 allegedly. It has been mentioned on here so it must be right.
