Ping

Ping customer service has always been excellent on the rare occasion I've needed them. My old G2 driver cracked along the bottom last year, I'd had it about 4 years and wasn't planning on changing. It had cracked around the blue pattern on the bottom. I called Ping and the asked me to get it sent back by my club so they could look at it. 2 weeks later I get a credit note for a shiny new G10. They would have been well within their rights to say bugger off but they didn't and saved me forking out for a new driver.

I really dont get this Ping are old mans clubs???

Could someone please explain why :D

I spoke to Dave the Ping european marketing manager about this subject at WH.

He confirmed that when Karsten first started the company he was 46 yrs old and wanted to make a set of clubs that would be forgiving for older golfers. Hence the "old mans clubs" tag was born.

Obviously they have moved on a long way since then and now make excellent clubs for all standard of golfer. However some mischief makers ;) still like to refer to them as old mans clubs.

I personally dont like the look of the irons but I do like the look of the woods. When I go for my driver fitting I may well go for the fairways too , we'll see

Not sure the tag will stay though if Westwood can do the business. It'll be a case of playing Major clubs.

Wonder who won last years Masters and what clubs they used. It'll come back to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;)

Angel, managed to battle through, despite handicapping himself with a set of 'old mans' clubs. Just think, he might not even have needed a play off if he had used Titleist.

As an aside, interesting he has dropped the belly putter (held at the end of the grip, so becomes a stupidly long standard putter) in favor of a standard looking putter.
