just wondering why Ping are intorducing another line ofclubs for us...

The irons are like the i15 which are already excellent (just not forged)

The driver is like my g10, fairways aren't super different to the other models.

Hyrid is like the G15, butt ugly.

And the putter has some minor changes to it...

Are they trying to compete with taylormade???

That would be stupid as they are totally different to Ping in production style and type of clubs...

I assume they are dropping the Rapture range, and these are the replacements.

I have never really seen any difference between the raptures and the G range anyway, except the colour.

All Ping clubs are ugly. It is hard to single any of them out as being uglier.

Fair enough then.

I still think that they may be unnessecary as the G15/i15 range does well enough to cover all types of golfers.

That's just my opinion though... :D :D :D

I saw (and had a swipe) with the new K15 driver at Gainsborough last Thursday. Got to be honest, I didn't like it, lookswise or otherwise.
Found I was hitting big hooks with it.
Much prefer the look and feel of the i15.
Wonder how much I can get the matching 3 & 5 woods for
:D :D :D

Not surprised you were hitting hooks, the K15 range is weighted towards the toe to aid squaring the face up, so is aimed at the high handicapper who tends to slice.

The K15 irons are not like the i15's they are more like the G's but with titanium faces, again aimed at the high handicapper who struggles to get the ball airborne.

The Anser irons are the ones that are a forged version of the i15's and are predominantly for the Japanese market which is around 90% forged I believe, although they will be available here as well.

Yeah, A forged Ping sounds great... I tried the i15 and really liked it... Stock shaft is awful but it played a nice ball flight, but I still prefer a forged iron.

I was at the range tonight. The Ping S57s look nice - didn't have a swing. They didn't have any of the K range in to look at. I'm probaby 12-18 months from buying a new set of irons, there will probably be another couple of releases by then...

Ping are normally pretty good. A series normally has a shelf life of 2 years so the new S56 will be replaced lare Summer 2012. So the G and i 15's probably have a year left.

I saw these new irons today and I have to say they are a vast improvement looks wise than the Rapture V2 range. I was very impressed with them.

As for the Ping S56's, all I can say is Mike H you lucky b...!!! That's the nicest iron Ping have produced.
