My G2 driver looks to be on its last legs... :-(

A thin crack has appeared in the face of my G2 driver. I think it must be in just the top layer as it's still working well (although making a different noise I think). It must be on its way out though - one of these days it will cave in as I crush one 330 yards down the middle

I haven't got the budget for a new driver so looking at what might be a good second-hand replacement. I want forgiveness - everything else is secondary. Looks like I can get a G15 or G20 on fleabay for about £50. I'm not 100% set on Ping but I'm drawn to them by their sequential naming structure - I know that a G20 is newer than a G15, which is newer than a G10 etc. I'm bewildered by everything else!

Any recommendations for a other models of about the same age as a G15/G20 that I should add to be list for consideration?

Thanks in advance.

That picture is almost the same as mine - although my crack is more horizontal. Did your G2 last much longer once it appeared or did you stop using it anyway?

It didnt seem to affect the ball flight at all.
Fortunately, I knew the Ping rep at the time and he just swapped it for the G5.
You should be able to get one off ebay for around £50-60

G15 would be my recommendation!

Plenty forgiving - especially if most 'misses' are high/low as opposed to Heel/Toe. The Serrano shaft (stock option) is rather good too!

For a more modern one, Adams XTD TI (well, I would wouldn't I)! Slightly muted sound compared to the Ping's 'clang', but definitely long - and adjustable if you desire that!

Ebay is the place for either!

My finger slipped earlier on today and a I ended up ordering a new driver. Hate when that happens... Lol

Anyways I have a g20 up for sale soon enough let me know if your interested.

Got a G15 myself and it's a great cheap enough club. Payed 40 for mine 2nd hand. G10 is also a good shout. Cheap as chips for how good they are

G5 was the longest driver I have ever played with. I hit it into the stratosphere and it would just carry for miles. I swapped it as I needed something to bring my ball flight down as I really struggled in windy conditions with it.
