we all know he is not going to be playing these clubs,i was under the impression he played the same clubs he has done for years and ping make these clubs just for him now,when i had my fitting done it was at the ping centre in gainsborough and the guys there told me this,was it woods who used a TM driver but had NIKE do a cosmetics job on it to look like one of theirs

Not a chance. I'm not saying I won't give them a perusal when they come out but to be honest the R11's are feeling good. Getting the swing sorted tomorrow with the new teaching pro and everything looking ginger peachy for the new year. New bats + new swing = plenty of success and cuts

Frag, get with the programme. I've said for a while I didn't think I was making as much progress with the guy I was seeing as I should have and the last two lessons have seen the changes and drills really hard to implement and not really produce any net change. I was chatting to this new guy via Twitter and he gave me a free 20 minute pointer session a fortnight ago that made more sense than the last 2 x 1 hour lessons so I've booked a 30 minute slot tomorrow to see how we get on. Its definitely not a new teacher - AGAIN - as I've been using this guy for the last three years. We got from 18-10 but I've stagnated and feel a change is a good thing

Probably a stupid question, but if you were a category 1 player in the past, how did you get given an 18 handicap ?
Gave up the game for 10 years - illness and some serious injuries - lack of practice. When I rejoined Ascot in 2006 my first full 18 holes for 4 years were my three handicap cards. I'd never seen the course as I was putting my first card in - mid winter and blowing a gale. My scores were 97,98,94 and I was actually trying my heart out on each one. The second round was marred by torrential rain from the 3rd to the8th and then from the 11th all the way home and the last one was another stormy day. I got given 18 because I'd been off 12 when I left the old Ascot club in the middle of the racecourse.
Once I had a few lessons and played and practiced I went from 18-14 quickly and then down to 12 where its sort of bobbed between 11-14 since
