There are a few of us on here that use them Bob...
I have a 9.5....
They are geared towards the better player but i struggled with driving for ages only ever using a 3 wood...I tried about 6 different drivers until one day i said ill take one out for a few rounds and see what happens....
It hasnt come out of the bag since.....Now my ball flight is a slight fade more of a push fade than a pull but i dont draw the ball...Its the only driver iv had that sits pretty square when behind the ball...Thats what i like...I hate looking at a closed face i find them too hard to line up.....
They are weighted for a more boring flight and wouldnt be the most forgiving when not caught out of the middle but when you do hit it well the ball has a sore ass after it...
It seems to want to stay in the air forever....
I dont swing overly fast with a driver...I had it measured between 100-105mph and the stock ping shaft seems to suit me well which is why i also have the 3 wood and the hybrid....
Just because its for better player and it isnt as popular on tour as say the G10,15 or 20 models i wouldnt snub it....
I find i get great results if i swing smooth and just drop the club in to collect the ball at impact....If i go after it a bit too much i get a bit erratic....
My misses are between the middle and the heel...Nver caught one out of the toe yet so i cant compare that....
I would definitely try one though...There lack of popularity has them at the cheaper end of the spectrum
Absolutely love mine, tried numerous drivers over the past 3 years (Taylormade Superquad, R9, & Burner, Titeist 909 D2,D3 & 910D3, Nike SUMO2, Ping Rapture V2) and the I15 is for me at least the best. I bought the Titleist 910D3 after all the hype on here, got myself fitted for the right settings and the trackman confirmed an extra 25yrds carry over the Ping, got to the course and found this was Bollox, with the numbers reversed. Mine is a 9.5 degree with Avixcore Proforce stiff flex shaft, and as stated above it seems to hang in the air for ages with straight or slight fade the norm
I love mine too, although I have recently purchased a Cobra S2 Driver and am giving this a run out too.
My i15 has an Axivcore shaft fitted to it for a lower ball flight and it works, although there are times I want a higher ball flight and the Cobra is giving me this.
I tried the G15 when it came out but it sat closed and although I was hitting it reasonably well it kept finding the left hand side. The i15 suits me, sitting a little "open" although I don't notice it that much.
I also tried the K15.....yeuk!
