Ping G700

Just seen some pics of the G700's and they do NOT look like GMAX replacements to me.

Look very much more like a Ping version of the TM 790's.

Anyone know why they have leapt from G400 to G700? Should there not be a 500 and 600 in between? There is usually some logic in numbering, a sequence of some sort.

I have always felt that they should have brought out a 'G spot' series.

I see that as well as the standard spec there's a "Power Spec"!

The standard spec 7-iron is 29.5˚ while the power spec 7-iron is 28˚ oo:, it would be interesting to see proportion of each type sold.

Why not have a full set with regular lofts and just hit a lower number.

It's a macho thing. Nobody wants to admit they use a 7 iron for a 130 yard shot.

Was told about these last week, as the rumours have been around for a while.

They are a super game improver, available in two versions, the power one being even longer.

100% a G max replacement

G400 not been out a year yet and the new 700 sits behind it in the range.

Thanks for that, but a genuine question, what is wrong with hitting the ball high? I hit my irons incredibly high, and pretty long. Though is an issue in high winds, I find it quite an advantage. My irons stop pretty sharpish. Because I don't get any roll my distance is almost all carry so hitting over bunkers or water hazards is no issue

nothing wrong with hitting a higher ball but for shot efficiency there is a optimal hight for the shot.. i could throw a stone really high if i wanted to but it would land at my feet.
