First of all I would like to thank everyone who replied to my post last week about my horrendous round (in very high winds) in our monthly medal (128 -26 = 102) Most of you wrote encouraging words and some of you thought that I should have picked up. I will take on board most of what was said and try to take it on. By the way a 9 h/c who won the July medal actually took 16 on one hole last week.

So this weekend I was determined to put together something better and was delighted to score 36 stapleford points, with 3 blobs. I hit 8/14 fairways including the fairway I actually took 5 drives on last week, hit 5 GIR, and went out in 22 points. My strokes were 98 which gave me a net level par 72.

And whats up next wweek? The Rabbits Trophy!!

It's too easy with this game to get down on ourselves when having a bad round or two. A tweak here or there or a good bounce and we're off again shooting some respectable golf. Enjoy the good rounds and forget the bad ones , we're still out there playing the sport we love after all.

Fred Firstly, congratulations on your 36 points with 3 blobs.
It's a refreshing change to hear someone happy with 36 points.
Alas, I fear your score will have to improve greatly to compete for prizes next week, but go out and enjoy the day.
BTW, can you let us know how you get on please?

Thats serious scoring on only 15 holes so well down especially for no letting your demons get you on that hole you had trouble on last week. Keep at it and just believe its in there. Look at the three holes you didn't score on and see what lessons you can learn and do it again next week.

We all hit bad rounds and plenty of bad shots, its what you take from it that matters, what holes are the problem? is there a particular shot that causes grief? We were all beginners once,so well played and keep going.
