Pick a Hole

The final few holes at St andrews would be awesome with a crowd and the town looming over you. The postage stamp at Troon and coastal stretch at turnberry would be pretty special too.

Over the pond, I would say the 12th or 16th at Augusta, and the 17th at sawgrass would be hard to beat. While I love watching Scottsdale on the tv, I really wouldn't want to be in that cauldron.

The Postage Stamp at Royal Troon.

~120 yards and terrifying. I have played it a few times. Highlight is a birdie after hitting a 4 iron into a very strong wind.

If the pin is at the back of the long thin green it is especially difficult. If you go into the coffin bunker on the left side expect a high score!

18th at Royal Lytham StAnnes with a 1 shot lead, knowing you needed a great tee shot between the bunkers to give yourself the best chance of making par.

18th at TOC.

500 years of history, footsteps of champions, ghost of Old Tom, world's most knowledgeable gallery, shivers down the spine.

Playing into that green, with everyone lining the fence, even for just a club golfer visiting still sends goosebumps up my spine. Not difficult but the atmosphere - wow!

If it doesn't excite you, you haven't got a pulse.

Flying out this afternoon for a week here and have rounds lined up on the Bahia course for Mon,Tue and Weds.

Monday is a bit of a tournament with 10K USD hole in one at this par 3.

Looks pretty amazing and I will just be pleased to reach green ( or land) in one !!

Id 2nd that, it's bunker hell from the tee, then you got to hit the green. I was estatic when I birdied it when I played it. Cracking final hole, and Birkdales 18th worth a mention too.

I think the 16th at Phoenix must be right up there just because it is utterly different from every other hole. Nowhere else do you get that many people around a golf hole.

If I was thinking in 'purist' terms then the 18th at the Old Course would be my choice.
