After a crap day at work a last minute plan saw me hit my course for twilight two ball with one of the guys from our society. Ive been struggling with the shermans of late but have worked hard on the drills and tonight i had one plan,

Given that sunday is our june medal and a virgin atlantic comp qualifier i just wanted to get out off the whites and work out my yardages. i havent played my home track since before the wet spell so just wanted to see how it was going to play.

A little putting practice, onto the tee with no warm up.... first drive infront of a packed patio saw an absolute bomber up the right with a bit of draw to the point where one of the pros says for everyones amusement.... " beleive it or not hes struggling at the moment... "....

What proceeded was some of the most relaxed golf that saw me hammer my personal best by 3., and whats more a 4 birdie putts were missed from 10-12 ft.

my dropped shots wasnt that bad, and i manged to hold it to gether even though i was well aware of my score... so there it is, straight out of some of the worst golf i have played, to now shoot a plus 6 that could have well been lower...

sitting here like a dog with two dicks!

I'm really pleased for you Baz old mate. It's been a struggle but hopefully onwards and upwards from here on in.

Sounds like a case of stress free golf OS, just playing the game and loving it. The direct opposite of the rage/bad shot cycle that we often get in. Relaxation breeds good shots, breeds enjoyment, breeds relaxation...

Top man. I played 15 holes last night (1-14 & 18) in +8 gross. So what you might say but considering I chucked a triple bogey 6 in on the shortest and easiest hole on the course the rmaining 13 holes were pretty tidy. So much better than Saturday and so annoying that I can't get rid of that one blow up per round. Not quite in your league but back to glass well topped to the top Homer

cheers chris, id be lying if i said i wasnt tempted to have a break from the game it had go to me that badly, as it stands i know i left two shots out there, and them 4 lipped birdies could have made it even better.....

just builds a bit of self beleive for sundays medal...

starting to think this is the key to good golf...

PS good to see homers even happy.

I believe it is. Some of the best golf I have ever played has been in the most relaxed and stress free manner. It's maintaining that that's the holy grail.

betweem two pro's i beleive my pre shot routine was the key to todays score, it releases all tension to the point where after two practice swings everything feels so natural...

i honestly think if i can maintain that feeling in the PSR i could shoot todays scores on a regular basis.

Good luck in the keeping PSR consistent mate, just keep loose and enjoy that practice swing.
And good luck at the weekend.

I shouldn't beat yourself up if you have a poor one, it's clear that there's a good game in you now. I am having mixed results too as in: 76, 24 points, 78, 76, 91 - work that lot out! but I'm doing a few changes and expect some ups and downs

Keep calm and it will all be good!

The thing is Chris before Christmas I had a run of 76/77/76/78 so I know it's there ...... I don't expect the same on Sunday, even buffer will be a big improvement on what's been recent.

Wish people wouldn't use so many abbreviations, what's PSR?

Nice shooting OS, I remember shooting 2 under one night, secretary saw me at 18th and I told him, his only retort was "do it with a card in yer hand son!"
