Just curious, is there any PCC guidance for two rounds on a single day club comps, e.g. to allow for the fact that it's tougher to play 2 rounds in a single day for most club players compared to a single round comps or is it always only based on the returned scores (vs expected ranges etc)?

Strictly based on the distribution of returned scores versus the expected distribution. The returned scores may reflect any player fatigue impacts.

I play 60-100 rounds a year, mainly at my home club. There hasn't been a PCC adjustment on my scoring record for at least three years.

We get a quite a few PCC increases where I play particularly when the Seniors are playing medal off the white tees, e.g last Monday one player 1 under nett one par nett all the others 3 or more over par ( course rating 70.8 par 71) PCC + 1

At my club I played a string of six comps last year...

18-5-24 PCC +1
21-5-24 PCC +3
25-5-24 PCC +1
30-5-24 PCC +1
2-6-24 PCC +1
5-6-24 PCC +1

On the PCC +3 day I was 12 over par and got a SD of 7.0

On 30-5-24 I actually won the seniors comp with 35 points with a PH of 4.

This year I have witnessed PCC +1 on only 3 occasions 1-4-25, 14-6-25 and 23-9-25

I have not witnessed a negative PCC at my club since start of WHS

I've played a lot of 1-day 36- hole events and can't say I've ever noticed any significant difference in scoring across the field from morning to afternoon that couldn't be attributed to improved/worse conditions.

Anyway, PCC is only ever based on the scores returned. There is provision for there to be 2 PCCs calculated for morning/afternoon but there would have to be a dramatic change in conditions affecting all players in each half of the day to justify that.

Seems that would only be for competitions where the Committee enters the scores? We do not indicate what time of day we played when posting a score. I usually post mine when I get home, several hours after playing.

There would certainly need to be a way of differentiating the scores for each PCC.
While covered in a clarification within the rules (5.6/2 & 5.6/3), I'm not aware that any WHS software has the functionality (yet).

The ability to have muliple PCCs is generally for the situaion where a specific competition is played on a day (e.g. a County competition) and they require a PCC for their scores separate from Club/GP scores.
