Always good to see Lawrie playing well and shooting low.
I've never quite figured out why folk knock him. He turned Pro with a handicap of 4 and I think he's done mighty fine to achieve what he has. A career most would willingly take I think?

I've never really understood the people who've knocked Lawrie. It's almost like some people resented the fact that he won at Carrnoustie. It wasn't his fault that Van De Velde threw it away. As well as shooting 67 in the last round didn't he birdie the last 2 holes in the playoff to win? You have to respect the guy for that. Imagine the pressure and isn't that what Championship golf is all about?

To me, that was one of the finest Open rounds ever. In those conditions - weather and course - to shoot 67 and win the playoff was superb play.
Hope he does well this week.
