Paralympics...

Sometimes you have a mixed category competition, where people of different degrees of disability will compete against each other and rather like the heptathalon, they are given points as per their performance

these points are loaded, so as we saw in the shotput, the guy who lobs it furthest doesnt always win , or the guy that comes in 4th did a paralympic record for their category

Saw Ellie in the pool this morning, smashed the world record and got into the final, we saw 7 world records and 13 Paralympic records in the pool today, Then Ellie goes and wins Gold this evening, saw it on the big screen, great stuff

Also anyone who hasnt seen wheelchair tennis before, its great to watch, those guys and gals are amazing

heard on the news that the winner of a race and new world record has been demoted to bronze and second place moved up because the winner was less disabled than the second place,how the hell does that work????

Bit like our handicap system (sorry - absolutely no pun intended). Same happened in the women's long jump. British girl had longest jump but came second.
