There used to be a par 6 of 735 yards at Bright Castle, near Downpatrick here in Northern Ireland but it's been trimmed back to a par 5 because par 6s aren't compatible with the handicapping system, apparently.

I'd love some par 6's on my course. That way I wouldn't end up being a lot over par

Why nor par 7's or 8's - will the madness never end? Getting a 6 on your card goes against everything that's good in golf, par 5's are long enough.

The longest hole in the world is at Koolan Island Australia measuring 860 yards and its a PAR 7!!
