Par 3 Course Recommendation (South West)

Just a heads up to anyone who's ever in the area and wants to improve their short game. Thornbury's (nr. Bristol) 18 hole par 3 course is pretty awesome.

I was worried that it was going to be boring "straight up and down" affair. But there's short holes (ridiculously short, like 60-70 yards) and long holes (170-180 yards) as well as some dramatic ones (30 ft drops onto the green). And is great value for money (£10.50 or £6 with a "players card" - which is free) and the reason my short game was so good on Saturday I think.

So good, I'm going down again on Wednesday for 18. Marvellous.

I've never come across an 18 hole "full" par 3 course (as opposed to a pitch and putt)...Are they rare or fairly common in other parts of the country/world?

yhh theres quite a lot of them around. ime from Nottingham theres a couple up this way. comin to have a round on the thornbury par 3 while working away in Bristol. going to give the players club. par 3 watergarden a try looks fun... my clubs 3-p irons titleist ap1 712 s300 shafts custom fitted and there the dogs b$$&&x. titleist vokey sm4 60 degree wedge. still got my old drivers and fairways atm but working on buying some new drivers and fairways sometime soon hc 16 par 3 club member ramsdale park

I get up there a lot on my lunch break and do 9 as I only work 2 mins from the course.
I really feel it has helped my short game and they look after it like their main course too which is good to see.
the range is also good there (if you ignore the yardages, laser to 100 is 115 and 150 is 168 and on top of that you hit 60 or 70% balls!) if you have a range card as you get 20 balls free, so you just keep putting it in till you have enough balls!
