Paddy Powers new advert

I thought due to the many cases of rogue public shootings that it was in extremely poor taste and NOT funny at all. they should sack their advertising agency and Marketing Director for doing it.

yes really, but we all laugh at different things, we all have different standards!

implication being that if I find it funny I have lower standards than you ! How very rude ;) (and a little patronising)

Maybe you could explain exactly what you find in poor taste. Educate me !

Oh dear, sorry you took it that way and made an implication where none was intended. I certainly didn't imply your standards were lower but just we all laugh at different things. I could have worded it slightly better so as not to offend.

No offense, I'll put a bigger wink on this time

Paddypower take pride in having ads banned, there was one about transgendered ladies at Cheltenham, I thought it was quite funny, but I know a lot of people were up in arms about it, and that got banned too.

"..... for civilised people and the Irish". That is a great ad. And I am Irish, although obviously therefore not very civilised.

Some ads trigger an irrational response in the easily offended and those who read the Daily Wail (oops, seem to be repeating myself there). The ad is not advocating or making little of shooting people in the street.

^^^^^ Absolute rubbish.

Have you ever been horse racing ??

Unfortunately one of the finest days in the horse racing calender last year was ruined by the mindless thugs who thinks going racing means getting pissed up and fighting the world.

The forthcoming event at cheltenham is usually attended by the real racing people who love the sport and a bet, not the local thug and their cronies whose definition of fun is getting pissed up and taking drugs then having a massive brawl.

I'll be there Tuesday and i can't wait for it.

Brilliant advert. Reminded me a bit of that Dudley Moore / Daryl Hannah film a fair few years back about an ad man who has a bit of breakdown and checks into a hospital and with all the other patients starts coming up with ads based on the truth, with gems like "Porsche. It's a little too small to get laid IN, but you get laid the minute you get out!" :whoo:
