They basically lost me on the first one because I can see what they intended to do but they failed to realise that stone and scone don't actually rhyme if you pronounce them correctly :p

Feed a fed horse, people pointed out they are encouraging obesity in animals. ;)

Of course they rhyme. It’s very wrong to think scone rhymes with gone(y)

Listened to somone trying to promote this on Radio Scotland.
No callers supporting, best reply was from someone who commented that she had not heard anyone use those phrases for about 30 years,

I don't understand the dead horse one on so many levels. Firstly, if you're flogging a dead horse you're not really harming any animals, it's already dead. Secondly, by changing it to 'fed' are they trying to suggest that horses should never die? Ever??

If somebody 'brought home the bagels' when I was expecting bacon, there would be serious words.

To be fair to them, they are trying to change attitudes. But they always seem to use methods that provoke derision rather than support. If they want to influence us, rather than home in on what they believe to be obvious references to animal cruelty, they need to think more laterally. After all, there's more than one way to skin a cat ...

:ROFLMAO: Surely you mean, there's more than one way to pin a badge? Or more than one way to bin a hat? Or to fling a map?
