Evening all,

After recommendations that you have played, course or courses have to be 2 hours from Hampshire and 2 from Derbyshire as that is where the lads will be driving from , we are after 1 night 2 rounds or 2 rounds different courses in May. Handicaps range from 23 to 14.

Hard to give idea without specifics. Hampshires a big place that time limit could a big difference from somewhere like I live in Odiham to say someone down near Southampton, same goes for Derbyshire.

But top of my head I’d say best bet for a half way point would be around Worcestershire, roughly 2 hrs from Hants and 1hr 50(ish) from Derby. Again that’s based on not knowing exact travel distances of the individuals.

Also with no budget info hard to suggest courses etc but there are some real nice ones to choose from such as :

Moseley
Fulford Heath
Kidderminster

Can’t be much more help than that without specifics.

According to whatshalfway.com you need to aim for Burton Dassett, and the nearest golf club to there is Leamington & County. No idea if it's any good.

In that case it’s Warmington in Oxfordshire exactly 107miles each, 1hr 54mins and 2hrs 4mins respectively.

So courses like Frilfod heath or Studley Wood

Then Frilford is a great option. 3 great courses, won't kill the higher handicappers, will interest the lower ones.

Not cheap these days, but better courses tend not to be Plenty of accommodation around too.

As soon as I saw the two extremes and started pondering a venue midway between them, I immediately thought of The Oxfordshire. A really good stay and play venue, well worth a look.

Got a really good deal at The Oxfordshire 18 months ago. Were well looked after too. You can get to other Oxfordshire courses from there easily enough.

Only played it once with Crow in a seniors betterball open. The beginning and end of the nines are hilly and it’s a decent course.
