Opinions Needed on Stoke Park

The first time I played there was with Justone. My course was dry as. Bl had all 18 pins on the front, and it was a lot like playing in a swamp. I can only comment on the way I see it.

My course does drain well. I played on Saturday, and could put my trousers straight back in the wardrobe. I played rickgs place yesterday, and if it was not a commercial course, it would be closed.

GB - if I am free, happy to take you round Bearwood - we are less than 15 miles from Maidenhead. As Ethan says, new holes are in play and they are very good. With regards drainage, it is not as good as some of the heathland courses (it is mostly a clay base) but it is pretty good/way better than most on drainage unless it is sustained and really heavy, when it can struggle to get rid ofthe water. Murph played it in he worst conditions I have ever seen it - we must have had a lot more rain than Watford - it was torrential and sustained for days before and most local courses were closed. They improve the drainage every year and it seems they have finally sorted out the sixth this year - as Daniel said on the blog a couple of weeks ago, it was bone dry (maybe a slight exageration) but decent and firm and plenty of courses were closed. PS - last time I played the Berkshire, the red was losed for rain and the Blue was at leat as wet as Bearwood if not worse - and Wentworth is the most overpriced course in the country - don't bother. Stoke park is close behind if it is still around £150 or more - nice course and a special place but....
