Open or Ashes?

Yes, it is good for getting leathered at, isn't it?

I went to the 100th Cornhill Test or something at Old Trafford donkeys years ago, I can't remember who it was against, I do know I woke up at 4am in Blackpool though and cost me £100 in a taxi to get home

Only golf for me, test cricket is soooo boring

I'm off this week and will be switching between both. I'll probably be watching more golf though, mainly because as a golfer I'll get more out of watching it and I love seeing any top golfer coping with the challenge of a links. With cricket the highlights usually give you all you need anyway.

Will stick with the cricket though if you get one of those sessions where it's all happening and Anderson is moving it sideways or Warner is hitting it out of the ground.

This forum is full of peasants. The Ashes are always amazing, win or lose. The drama remains.

Cricket on the radio for Test Match Special. BBC for whatever golf they show in between their special features about kids playing golf locally, how the cameraman gets up in a crane and Gary Lineker dumbing everything down with studio guests.

I'm working the Ashes on Thurs and Friday, so looks like that'll be my only choice, but hopefully be able to watch a bit of The Open on the side!

I'll be @ Lords tomorrow! For Friday and the weekend it will be multi-screen all the way...

How do you do this multi screen thingy. Love the conecpt but how is it done? It sounds like bloke heaven.

If I can't crack that then I will flick between the two. I know it is blasphemy and I am ready for the abuse but watching golf at St Andrews is not appealing to me. I know romantics witter on about it but I find it a really dull and unappealling course to view. Perhaps it works when you are there but on tv, no thanks.

Ah, i remember years ago having to stay in for the delivery of a washing machine and pushing 2 TV's together, the Open on one, the cricket on the other. (Before it went over to Sky) Happy days!

I enjoy both but it'll be the Open for me.

Cricket on the Laptop, Golf on the Telebox until Sunday when I'll be at the UK Ironman course cheering on the lunatics who think that pushing themselves to the point of death over 8-17 hours is fun... Will catch the end of the Golf/Cricket when I get back..

I'd watch the cricket and dip in and out of the golf.

Whilst I'm interested in the golf, the cricket will have all of the drama and passion from the start that will be missing from the golf.

The open may get warmed up on Sunday, but the only thing in golf that compares to proper sporting tension is the Ryder cup, and that's a completely artificial construct.

I don't really care who wins the open, I care who wins the ashes.

Best sporting week / weekend of the year. I'll be flicking and watching both. Lots of naysayers about cricket on here.... it's actually the only sport (any format) that i can watch on TV no matter who is playing.
