Well.....it's bunching up nicely now, lets see what happens on Moving day :)

Was there today.

Weather as kind as it could be for an open and a soft course obviously meant almost everyone went backwards!!

Some brutal par 4's, about 4 or 5 that are touching 500 yards with bunkers everywhere.

As someone said, if the wind gets up it could be scary.....

The sea has receded in lytham, the land those houses are built on used to mostly be sea a long time back

Looks like its another "stay out of the bunkers at all costs" fest.
Great if you like to see a legend like Tiger take irons off the tee.

Course looks in super condition.....pity about the water table.

Hopefully Sunday will give us a little wind to keep the juices flowing!

Just watching Stevie Williams' player putt and I've decided I don't care who wins as long as it isn't anyone using a long putter. Hideous things

Back to back bogies for Snedeker, is he starting realise the position he is in??

Adam Scott is looking good right now, he's striking it beautifully. If he carries on like this he could have a very handy lead going in to tomorrow

It's not nice but anyone else hoping he has a wee collapse before the end? Just to keep it interesting tomorrow.

Not looking terribly likely though.

I know what you mean FD but I certainly won't be disappointed if Scott goes on to win. Seems like a really nice guy and long overdue his first Major.

Don't worry, I think there will be plenty of twists and turns before the end tomorrow ;)

i wonder how many no shows there will be to-morrow,sprained wrist/knee/back or the dreaded BLACKPOOL TROTS,i say at least 4 and one will be Irish!!

Don't know how relevant that is but there you go, however a links course in a housing estate?

I worked at Lytham in 2001 and played it not long after. I could have gone again (to work) this week, but some things got in the way. I stayed the other side of the railway line. It most certainly IS a links course, but there are corners which do not have the classic links feel. The trees down the right of 1/2/3 are not very linksy and the "top" corner has a distinctive "regular course" feel. The rest is spot on.

i.i.r.c. the expression (from Scotland) is to do with the dunes and sandy land that runs "into" the parkland. In the case of this course, it wouldn't matter if there were not houses and railway, the land itself is far closer to links than anything else.

It's not like Harlech/Aberdovey/Borth where I play Links golf - it's much more intimate and compact.
