Nice little treat for the early birds on the course.

Tom Watson paired with John Daly. Two former champions two contrasting personalities and styles.

Feel sorry for poor old Martin Laird having to play in front of them with a marker. Why not send them out as a 3. I'm sure they wouldn't hold anyone up. Are the R&A too strict on this?

Guess we're all too absorbed watching the golf to post any comments.

Great to see Scott keeping going hitting his driver and finding the fairway. Guts and skill. What winning a Major is all about. Nice cushion now with that birdie. Can he hang on?

Shame about GMac. That hoick into the bundu seems to have done for him.

Nice to see Ernie playing well.

Why can't Tiger hit his driver straight. Wrong shaft? Does he need a c/f fitting or should he spend the money on a lesson.;)

Dilemma........

Would love to see Scotty bag his first Major but Ernie is one of my all time favourites.

Ooooohhhhh......who should I be rooting for...............

Another sloppy bogie from Scott on 16. Ernie knocks this in on 18 and ghere's one in it.

Scott's driving has be great but the nerves are setting in.

Scott bogies 17.

Well they say it's the hardest finishing stretch ion the rota. Thought the closing stages might a little dull a la Oosthuizen in 2010. Now it looks like being a cracker.

Wow....what a shot! Now we find out how much bottle he's got!

Can't believe Scott went with 3W on 18. He's been smoking his driver all day.

Great 3rd though - putt for a playoff. Didn't think I'd see his 45 minutes ago. I too thought it was gonna be a dull finish

Is it right to feel sorry for someone who has just won £508,000??

From being a dull final day, then suddenly igniting with all sorts of possibilities, and then going out like a damp squib.

What a feeling of anticlimax.

It's a cruel game, but pleased for Ernie. Felt for him when he lost out to Todd Hamilton when he too missed a putt on 18 to win.

I'm not a great fan of Scott but I can't help feeling for him. Super golf for 68 holes. Will he suffer long term or will his day come?

Feeling for Scott he played so well.
Can hold his head up high.
More can be said for the people who say they cant stand Scott, even though the"ve never met him.
People who couldnt lace his shoes, more talent in his little finger
than most have in their whole bodies.
At least hes achieved something in life.

Not a nice way to see someone lose a championship, but ernie had lowest score after 72 holes and a deserving champion.
I know we have had a terrible summer in uk but was disappointed an open rota course went from 206 bunkers to 160 bunkers and 46 paddling pools after 11mm of rain on Thursday night, some of the bunkers were still wet today. Would be interested to hear if any other open rota courses have not coped with the weather this year.
