So HID answers the door this morning to find a young lady with an enormous bouquet of flowers - at least 2 dozen red roses plus loads of other stuff. She immediately got all emotional.

"Could you take these in for next door please" said the girl. "I've knocked but can't get an answer".

What I can't understand is, why was I in trouble??

I wished the Missus a happy Valentines day this morning, had completely forgotten about it until I heard some crap being spouted on the radio.
She returned the wishes and that was that. Thought she had forgotten too.
Got into work this morning, bloody great card delivered from her....
Just managed to get a big bunch of flowers delivered to her works with "And you thought I'd forgotten!" on the card

My wife told me not to bother this year. I've already realised from past mistakes that this type of statement has no value and should be ignored.

I ordered a hamper of chocolates from Thorntons. They arrived Saturday and she was very happy. She even let me have a few chocolates too.

Me and HID don't celebrate it per se and certainly don't buy cards, flowers, chocolates etc at inflated prices. She did cook a meal tonight which was a nice surprise

Think I'm in trouble as I bought her a doz roses from tesco stuck them in a water jug and left them with her card for her getting home as I'm working lates this week only to get a text saying she's giving me the money to buy the R9 I wanted !!!!! Somehow I think the fiver for the flowers from the joint account is gonna be enough now .
