Online dating. Anyone trying or had a go?

I suppose it depends on the chances you have of meeting a partner through work or your mates. If that is not good then I'd use it like a shot.

Having never been on one as I've been unhapilly married for a long time, I am often intrigued over the quality of women on those sites. I am sure they are all not as attractive as the ones you see in the adverts for dating sites, but I bet there's some wap fettle out there.

Perhaps not advertise the fact you are a golfer though, as our reputation of being snappy dressers and basically anything other than Daily Mail readers and is not the greatest ;)

I got fed up meeting drunk girls in pubs then realizing a few days later I gave them my number and getting stalked by them.

I tried a dating website and met one girl off it and she was a propper loone. However I seen one girl on there who I liked, same interests (well apart from golf) same music taste and she loved classic cars (great cause I had a Mini Cooper) We went out on a date and nearly 5 years later we are getting married in December 2013. We both went on Match for the same reason as we were sick of meeting ***** in pubs/clubs.

Give it a bash I say

Some interesting replies!!

Certainly more folks of my age group think it's perfectly acceptable.

Must admit that I thought I met 'the one', not that there is such a thing of course. But after a year it wasn't what she wanted. So back on I went. And yep, so far in the last few weeks, there's been the 'nutter' who wanted to get married before the end of the year. The 'player', and the one who wanted a daddy for her kids!! I've turned into what I should of been at twenty!! Problem is that I keep 'scoring' them against the last girlfriend. So god knows what they thought of me.

Met my wife through online dating when nobody admitted to using it. That was nearly 15 years ago since we first met
