One to look forward to

The (real) start to my golfing year is always a bit of links golf in April. A real quality pro am comp over a few days away, something that I always look forward to every year.

These are 2 fairly famous holes from 2 of the courses, who can guess them?? Prize is one of Homer's 2nd hand golf balls that I found on the hard shoulder of the M4 (a real wayward one!!)

The top one is the 6th on the Church course at St Enedoc known as the Himalayers and the second looks like Trevose

What Homer said, he is definitely correct on St Enedoc, and that does look like Trevose.

Yup, I agree with Homer.....but the Trevose photo was taken before the green keeper killed off the greens.

Spot on Homer, I see you've gone for the Cornish pronounciation of Himalayas as well. It was a Top Flite XL, do you want it back??

The top one is the 6th @ St Enedoc, drive onto the fairway in the foreground. Can't hit driver as there is a sneaky pot bunker in the fairway just out view behind the mound on the left. Laying back leaves you between 5 & 7 iron over that bunker, has to fly all the way to the green as it is raised up and anything short will be 40yds back down the hill. Fantastic hole, can't wait to play it again.

Bottom is the 4th @ Trevose, short par 5. A half decent drive leaves about 200yds blind shot to the green. As you come over the brow of the hill you are greeted by this view which just takes your breath away.

Redwood, I would love to but it's pretty full on, 3 days of 5hr+ rounds and a few swallows in Newquay post rounds. Your place used to be on the rota for this pro am. It's the Cornish Links Festival, does your pro play in it?? It's a great week if you get him to put a team in.

I'm jealous RB thats sounds like a terrific weeks golf. Only one down that way i've played is Perranporth and that was a magnificent experience.
