I bet we end up with a lot more players knowing the rules than did before the changes.

They are easier to learn; but for those who know the existing ones reasonably well there will be a significant period of frustration.

Happy to bet that within a year more people will know more of the rules than previously.

A bi-product of the internet and smartphone age I'm sure. The new rules have been plastered everywhere. I presume 40 years ago if a rule changed they'd be relying on word of mouth so loads of people wouldn't know what was going on.
