• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

One course for the rest of your golfing life?

Surely has to be somewhere I can knock it round till I'm 90 so anywhere local I can do that which has decent members and good competitions.

As long as the greens are decent enough and they cut the rough under trees I'm happy

I've not played the number of top courses some of you guys can list, some of the best I have played include the Grove, Hillside, The Brab', West Hill, Camberley, Seacroft, the 2010 and The Old Course at Vilamoura, but I think of those that I have played Sherwood Forest gets my vote - nice and scoreable front 9, tough as nails back 9 - kept finding my ball (even in the long stuff) and a hole-in-one on the 4th gives me good memories.

Can't wait for Swinley next month, and Sunningdale and NZ next year to try to change my top course.
