One course for the rest of your golfing life?

Re Tashy's choices
Yeah I'd be happy with either of those (ile aux cerf was in great nick last weekend) but Heritage GC in the south would just edge out both and be my pick if I only have one course for the rest of my days ( luckily playing it twice later this weekend) 😄👍

Actually, I think I'd be happy with staying with my home club. It is a pleasant parkland par 72 course, challenging enough to never get boring, yet relatively flat and with short walks form green to next tee, so still manageable for senior players. The layout makes it possible to play only 9 (or actually pretty much any other number of) holes It remains in relatively good condition for most of the year and except for the few weeks in winter when we actually get snow, it is usually open. The members are very friendly, the atmosphere overall is open and tolerant. Except for maybe a handful of sunny Sunday mornings a year, it is never too busy, so that even without fixed tee times, you rarely have to wait at the first tee to start your round. The club house is nice, with good affordable food (though that might change, the guy who is currently running the restaurant is going to leave by the end of the year and we don't know who is going to take over). Not much more to wish for for a weekend hacker like me, actually.

Tough question, I have a huge soft spot for Blackmoor, it was the very first heathland course I played, my very first GM meet and I won H4H's 2012 there, but even removing all the emotive side of things, I think the whole package of course & clubhouse is excellent and I wish I lived closer to it.

If I had to choose a links course then it would be Formby, I was so impressed when I played Formby that Hoylake the next day was a huge disappointment by comparison.

Were awash with so many great courses across the country that I think if we play any particular course better on the day than that tilts the scales somewhat, but honorary mentions should go to West Hill, The Berkshire, Alwoodley, Notts, Sherwood Forest, St Georges....I could go on, but, if as the questions begs, then Blackmoor for me, it has the whole package.

Beau Desert for me. Played Swinley and Hanckley and as good as they they are I always seem to enjoy Beau for me. Would love to say a Links course and have played some fabulous ones but there is something about Beau Desert i just seem to enjoy more than anywhere else.

It would take me a lifetime to master the greens at Beau.

Mmmm, Tough call.

If we're talking just the course I'd go for Formby.

Golf Club - The best all round set up Ive seen is Blairgowrie.

Clubwise Locally, I'd go for S&A.

If we are ignoring distance to travel to it I would have to go with Royal St Davids. I really enjoy the course even when it shows me who's boss. Always rewards good golf.
