oi Ricky, nooooooooooooooooo

Hi tops anywhere but a basketball court look awful imo. He certainly isn't wearing winter boots to walk through our uk courses/fields. Teaming them with elasticated bottoms was the final straw for me. It is never a good look. They are affectionately know as '*****toppers' around my way. Truly awful look no matter what age you are.

I don't like them. Do Puma really think these will sell in big numbers assuming they will be released

According to My Golf Spy Puma have no plans to retail atm but have suggested the trousers may be given away as comp prizes this year. Boots currently exclusive to Fowler.

Wouldn't be my choice of apparel (mainly because I'd look ridiculous in it) but if it helps bring younger players in then why not?

Not sure the shoes or Fowlers apparel will necessarily bring youngster in on their own. If they only offer them as prizes it will make them fairly exclusive.

I've got something similar in white and lime green, and like Ricky I don't wear them in wet conditions, just for summer wear.

I haven't tried the elasticated trousers yet but if I could find some for sale in a complimentary colour I might consider it.

And we wonder why young people are put off this game. So he's wearing a pair of golf shoes that look like basketball boots and a pair of cuffed trousers. So what. He still plays the game fantastically well. I honestly think the whole dress code thing is a nonsense. I'd much rather get round in under 4 hours. As long as people respect the course, the rules and fellow competitors they can strut round in an oversized sombrero, a mankini and a pair of knee high golf boots... ;)

'Like' as the kids say.

Saw some of the highlights today on Sky and if I had not read this post what he was wearing would not have registered with me.

This...

Does it really matter what he is wearing?

He looks good. I like them. Nothing to really see here we can all move on. It's a bit 'golfer wearing golf shoes and correct attire trousers' shocker

If I saw someone on the course wearing them I'd probably think to myself 'wtf is he wearing'?
But it wouldn't offend me.
It's footwear,that's all it is.
