Oh Would You Look At That Rain...

Well I am just back from the seniors rollup. Got soaked and all three of us decided to quit after nine holes.

Wanted to play 9 holes this afternoon perfect weather for it, only one small problem, the course is closed for Herts Captain day :(.

Unlucky guys we've had glorious sunshine here all day , in fact I had to water the garden this afternoon cos it hasnt rained for about 3 weeks now :D

lovely hot sunny 18 holes this morning , up to 20 degrees I think

Heavy showers this afternoon but nice and sunny now. No good to me as I'm tied to the keyboard working on next months magazine piece. How to condense 8 pages on electric trollies into 200 words!

Been out today on the wrong side of the pennines with Doh & GJbike. Weather held right up to the 18th. Nice peaceful course.
Tee balls left something to be desired.
Highlight, GJ pitching in for Eagle from just under 100yds, quickly followed by my S***k from 40 at the same hole Aaaaaagh!!!

Back on the right side of the pennines, it looks very black above :(

mitch,

you make sure you keep going to school. I bunked off the entire 5th year from January until the end of school and only went in to do my exams. I was working at the golf club as an assistant on £40 (cash in hand initially) which was pretty decent money back in 1982

Suffice to say I then had to knuckle down the following year but passed everything by January and so was free to leave and become an assistant. If I'd realised then that I could have written for a living I'd have studied and take a university degree and not tried to make a living from golf. That said I have no real regrets. Make sure you don't either by getting as many exams as possible.

no no you got it all wrong !!! i go to a I.T college so i can study I.T and hopefully i get 5 GCSE's from this then i will get all my gcse's in my maths etc etc. so i go to this college 2 days a week and school 3 days a week. school - monday, tuesday and friday. I.T college wednesday and thursday.. also this I.T college is only 2 hours a day so i do 9.45 to 11.45 then i can go home !!!!!

2 hours a day, whats the point? You'll just be getting started and it'll be time to wrap up.

Waste of time if you ask me.

Andy

Who mentioned Uni or 4 years?

You class 2 hours a day as worthwhile learning?

Personally I wouldn't get out of bed for 2 hours.

I still think that a University education should be free. Only for those who qualify, (no degrees in David Beckham), but for a proper degree, it leads to higher salaries, hence more tax paid, so the gov should subsidise it to reap the rewards later. No student loans. It is wrong. Like paying for something twice.
