This Sat/sun, nice here in Manchester. Quite sunny and warm. The best weekend in ages. Guess what. The first time the course has been closed all year. It was closed on Friday due to all that rain and has stayed closed. One very fed-up person here.

same here across in york best weekend for ages and the course was closed and still is flooded out on friday, major comp postponed sat for the 2nd time.

Our course was open, but in a ll fairness should have been closed.

Temp tee's and greens on every hole. Not much (....If any) standing water on the fairways, but very soggy under foot.

I just worked on striking and direction from the tee and didn't bother putting out. It was actually quite productive..... Sorry Dave

Our course was open and in great condition.

Only standing water was beside the fairway bunker on our 7th hole. Sure enough I sent my drive into it as well.

I played yesterday , some of the greens had blown looking dryish on top but with big mounds of grass full of water like camels humps dotted about on some , quite strange looking

Cracking course you play at DaveM. I was there end of June. You lucky person you. Your pro should push the course guides tho'. A must for first time players!

Every year in July, the family gets together to play a stapleford comp spread over Saturday and Sunday. We usually wear shorts in blazing sunshine .... This year we were assembling in North Yorkshire and booked to play Whitby GC Saturday and Scarborough Sunday. We drove through sunshine to get to Whitby only to find Whitby shrouded in fog and the course closed for H&S reasons, due to some holes running on the cliff tops and over a huge ravine. We were told it wouldn't clear for a couple of days .... The pro was good though and phone around for us, so we got onto Kirby Moorside, which should have been shut as it was so wet and gloopy. Scarborough closed Sunday so managed to play the front 9 at malton twice, and again it was heavy going.

Worse golfing summer ever and after the garbage winter, we've still not had chance to play on firm bouncy fairways with run. Its like an all year around winter
