And sorry I’m confused at what point you are making to a factual statement I made
I'm confused as to why you would get all uppity at the relevant missing detail being filled in... unless you are intentionally trying to mislead by only presenting some of the facts and/or provoke an argument.

Who was getting “uppity” 🤷‍♂️

Someone posted what they scored gross and where they come ( outside the top ten ) and I posted my gross score and where I came ( inside the top ten )

It was just a factual statement

There was no “relevant missing detail” for you to fill in , there was no need for your WHS Super Hero cape

Do people think WHS has made handicap comps fairer all round ? Or has it become more the domain of the mid handicap
On Saturday we had our monthly Stableford. Won overall with 40 points on count back by a 3.5 index, 2nd on count back 14.8, 3rd on countback 11.4. 4 in the top 10 were single figures. Pretty fair and equal I would say, if anything based on this one result slightly skewed in favour of lower handicappers.

It was the first monthly Stablefoird over our winter course since CR-Par was introduced. There is a 4 or 5 shot CH difference between our White and Blue tees, yellows somewhere in the middle. So this reduction in shots came as a bit of a surprise to some - even though they had gained a couple of the whites playing over the summer. Made a lot of people appreciate the concept of CR-Par better and most thought it a very good idea.

Statements being factual doesn't make them relevant. This is a thread related to the handicap system. Posting gross scores (and placings) without context is meaningless, as noted by several others in the posts immediately preceding yours.

Just looked at the weekend comps which were both stablefords off the whites with the course playing full length

Two Divisions

Sat

Div 1

Won by 11 HC with 41 points

Then a 15 , 10 , 10 handicaps all with 40 points

A 3 HC with 36 came 7th

Div 2

Won by 27 HC with 37 points

Then only one other broke 36

Sunday

Div 1
Won by a 9 HC with 40

Few mid HCs with 37

Then me and another off 1 with 36

Looking at the results imo the guys winning are playing off handicaps at least 2/3 shots higher than what they should be doing and those 10/11 handicaps used to be off around 6/7

Maybe but if you’re designing a new system it should not disadvantage a percentage of players .

The fact it’s low handicappers, the one section that take the game more serious than most could have been foreseen .

Surely after 4 years those guys off 10/11 would be back off 6/7 again by now?

Unless they’re manipulating their handicaps?🤷‍♂️

Do you really need the word winning to be defined.?

Maybe that’s part of the problem in this everyone gets a medal mentality just for competing.

There’s only one winner ! 🥇
And in the real world that is ther person with the best gross score, the rest of us are also rans and may get the consolation of pocketing a little money for playing better than our own norm and, if really lucky on the day, our name on a cheap trophy.

No the system moved their handicaps up and then they just play comps and their handicap increases
So on the course they were playing to 6 or 7 over, WHS comes in and says, “here you go” you can have 2 extra shots, so handicap moves to 8 or 9, but the course hasn’t changed and they are still capable of playing it to 6 or 7, then surely after 4 years their handicap should of come down from 8 or 9, why would it stay up?

Under the old system their handicaps got down to 6

It’s the same with players that used to be off 9/10 now up at 18
