Does anyone else find it slightly strange that the guy hasn't re-posted to defend his O.P. I would have thought if he had a serious point to make,or indeed any wisdom to share he'd have done it by now.

I wonder if he's put similar postings on other forums and if they were received with opens arms like on this one!! :D

Maybe he visited and didn't like the hostility.

I never saw the "full" O.P. but I guess there was a link etc.

I dont think theres any chance of a comeback from this guy hes probably been well and truly scared off quite right too.He will probably come back with a new nickname and a sensible post but we will never know its him.

If he's serious enough about his business and truely believe's in himself surely a few lame comments from us lot wont put him off. :eek: :p

Hold on a minute....

I looked at the website and it looks like a kind of blog more than a hard sell.

Maybe we were too harsh.

I mean, he has a point. He's got a 28" putter so he can get his eyes over the ball. I have a 34" putter and I know my eyes are over the ball (yes, I've used a mirror, although it cracked not so long after!!!)

Perhaps he's sussed it. 6 foot players should use 34". take an inch off for every inch below six foot. (or vice versa).

Ergo, Ronnie Corbett should use a 24" putter and Ross Fisher a 37" putter.

Talent. :)
 
To be honest, I'd be much more inclined to listen to his theories if he was a qualified Pro and not just a 4 handicapper who's played for years - just because you get to a lowish handicap doesn't mean you know what you're talking about.
 
I too think that was a very harsh response to a first post which didn't seem to me that he was hard selling anything and being referred to as a looney didn't offend me in the least. I guess you lot have scared him off now anyway.
 
I thought my blog was actually more interesting than his random theories on putting. Off 4 "in his prime" and no formal coaching doesn't fill me with confidence. There are lots of single figure guys on here with as much talent (including the ubiquitous Dodger) who I'd listen too because they have an opinion I respect rather than comng on here with a "look at me " type post

I doubt he'll come back and having checked out TG and Golf Magic it doesn't look like he's been brave enough or convinced enough about his idea to post there
 
Oh I don't think the response was too harsh. We've mellowed a bit sincesome of the real blaggers tried to put one over on us in times past.

If this chap was serious then a more friendly approach would have been to introduce himself properly rather than launch straight in with his classic opening line

Ah well, we'll see if he does respond, if he dose he might see the error of his ways and come back and get to know us better and let us get to know him better.

He'll find we're not all "loonies" :D
 
Even his club won't give him a low ish handicap. They must have seen him play. I have. Scary. Only came in on one hole, and that was playing with Smiffy as a partner. Most people would have come in on all 18.
 
Just had a brief look at the site.

This early paragragh amuzed me.......

You know what. I'll take that 'bet'. (sigh!) I am Mr Average then!

What i found a little odd was that he quoted "At my peak i reached a 4 handicap"
I think he may have to go back to the shop and get fitted again as his handicap may have crept up slightly since updating his blog...... :D :D
