Has anyone used them? Thoughts

Have seen a couple of reviews and they seem good. I've only recently got an odyssey White Hot SS which is ok but I've got a spare 915 driver so thinking of using for AG double value trade in.

Yep. I went for the 1w. It had its first outing on tues @ porthcawl. It went ok. Round 2 today.

It looks great, the headcover is cool. It seems to roll it ok.....it might be a stayer

Got a few in the pro shop at ours, they feel nice. Don't have the model I had my eye on but there's an R Line (?) and seems really easy to line up. I'm not looking to buy a putter just now but if I was/when I am :) I'll be taking a closer look at these.

Tried a number of these at the range last night. Visually they look fantastic but off the face they felt "funny". Something very difficult to describe, almost bouncy off the face and didn't really like them. They have a different Super Stroke grip to recent models which was slimmer and sat nicely in my hand. Shame about the face

My pro got the range in last week and messaged me as I had asked when he was getting them, so I popped along at the weekend to try the 1W which is the one that most interested me

Picked each of them up to see how they looked at address and confirmed that the 1W shape was the one I liked best, so the pro took the cellophane wrapping off it and let me take it out onto the putting green to give it a try. Rolled a fair share of putts (sank a few of them) and promptly decided I was having it - which upset him slightly because he had had his eye on it as well for his bag :D

I bought a #7 the day they were released. I'd been using an older Odyssey #9 for a while but the 7 was the one that seemed best on AG's little carpet, but on the course it just hasn't been working.

Love the insert though, so went back today and swapped it for the 9. AG's 30 day guarantee is a godsend.

I went into AG tonight and they had no blades at all in it so had a few whacks with the mallets and felt nice off the face so ordered in a #1 with mid slim SS... so basically same model as my current only with new insert.

I did like the look of the wide #1 but prefer the neck on the standard #1.

Coming on Wednesday so hoping it goes well. As you say 30 day guarantee is a godsend if not

I think new putters should come with no grips or grips that can be taken off easily, before you buy them of course, because those SS grips that come with the new O works putters are hideous to hold and you could save some money if you didn`t want that particular grip on your new putter.
Is this approach feasible?

I think they all come with SS don't they? Unfortunate if you like the putter but not the grip... I like the grips though so suits me

If you order in you get the choice of the 2.0 or the SS Pistol. Both the same price.
All the display ones I've seen have been the 2.0 though.

Yeah I get that, but both types of grip are hideous (imo), I would like to put my grip of choice on the putter but I don`t want to spend £160+ and have to remove £20+ worth of grip first!
Is there no way I can buy the putter without the SS grip and save myself some money?

You would have to ask Callaway, I don't see them for sale anywhere online with the option of no grip or picking anything other than from the 2 mentioned above.

Yeah it`s weird, you can custom fit grips on Woods and Irons but not Putters!

Wee update on these- so after a fair bit of practice I took onto the course and just could not get on with it on distance putts.... putts on 4 feet and in it was the best putter I have ever tried; not sure if due to the alignment help or the roll off the face but it really was excellent.....

But I had quite a few distance putts where I was putting 6-8 feet by or leaving 4 feet short.... I found the springy face really hard to judge. That's not to say it's not a good putter with maybe a lot of practice to get used to but I found I was standing over putts with no confidence. Another wee note in it's defence. Our greens are still a bit slow and sandy so that would maybe been an effect.

With me having a 30 day time limit (with AG) before I couldn't hand it back I just bit the bullet- at the end of the day I don't think I'd ever be happy with it. The sales rep did say I wasn't the 1st person to return one with the same reason for returning.

In the end he got me on SAM puttlab and tested about 6 putters and Tayloremade Daytona counter balance was winning all day but I then said I'd like to test a scotty Newport M2 (he hadn't offered me any scottys to test) but it performed even better. I'm not sure if it's because I so wanted this to be the best putter though as it's a thing of beauty.

He also gave me some drills and suggested I go back to using line for aim as I tend to aim ever so slightly to the right of the hole.

AG can sometimes get a bad rep (rightly so in some of my experience) but the one in East Kilbride were excellent so I will always go back to there if I am going to use AG. Top Class service.

I had a round on Sunday with a guy who'd just purchased the O Works V-Line. Nice looking putter and probably the one i'd go for it I were to get one. We played 9 holes with our own putters and then swapped for the back 9 as I was keen to give them a go. I really struggled with distance, the face felt really hot and the balls all seemed to be coming off at such a pace that I was struggling to control the pace. This was on soft greens, I'd have been all over the shot (even more so) had it been hard summer greens.

Obviously this was only based on half a round and I'm sure, like anything, you get used to the face and they'll probably suit a lot of people however my present putter will take some shifting at the moment.
