Hi all, looking at going to Florida again. Came across these. Prices seem very competitive. Anyone had any experience in dealing with them? Cheers

I have just had a quote from them and I found Virgin Holidays cheaper.

When are you looking at going Dave?

We have booked via Charter Travel, flying with Virgin from Manchester Airport. Can't comment on Ocean Florida but they could be one to compare them against.

The key always seems to be flights. There are loads of villas all within easy drive of the parks, all pretty big, well kitted out with a pool and all reasonably priced. It is flights that are the killer.

Whoever you use at least you know it is pretty much guaranteed to be a top holiday.

They’ve been around a while, but like any travel agent you’ll get horror stories and great experiences. If they’ve got all the accreditation’s then it’s pot luck. Generally speaking, all travel agents are great until there’s a change to airline schedules or something else out of the ordinary.

Have been to Florida many times over the years, I’d always prefer to book everything myself, gives you much more choice and flexibility, you deal directly with the suppliers ( airline, villa/Hotel, car hire etc etc), and it can work out a lot cheaper as well.

pay deposits etc by credit card to get the protection that they offer, and
please make sure that if you do it yourself that your travel insurance covers you for ‘end supplier failure’, in case one of your chosen suppliers goes bankrupt after you’ve booked.

Good luck

We're off this Easter and booked everything ourselves. It was a bit of a faff but it is pretty simple to do nowadays on t'internet.

We are flying via Dublin to Miami so will clear customs and immigration in Dublin, hopefully leading to a pretty painless journey through the airport the other side instead of the usual slog landing and then getting through US airports seems to be nowadays. But we'll see. Through a couple of contacts I'll hopefully have a couple of rounds at BayHill and The Blue Monster at Doral lined up as well.

we always use Golden Florida and stay at Bella Piazza on US27.
great place to stay for golf or Disney.

We usually stay just off the 192 up at Formosa BLVD area . Surrounded by great courses all within 10 mins . Had contemplated not taking my clubs this year as we’re staying in hotels rather than a villa to try something different . Not a chance that’s happening . Orlando is golfing heaven for me .

The Park tickets you mean!!!!!

Yes, we'll see how well it works. I travel to the US a bit with work and clearing immigration/customs can be OK but it can also be a very long and tedious process to get through it all if you get unlucky with the number of booths open, the number of planes landing when you do etc etc.

This time the direct flights were too expensive for us so we figured if we would have to change we may as well do something useful where we change. I now try and avoid changing in the US as much as possible as it is an increasingly unpleasant and stressful experience. Still, it can't get much worse than the last time we went as we flew out of Birmingham and, due to missed connections in the US on the way back, landed back at Heathrow.

Agree with this . For a family of 3 your talking very little change out of 2k .

The flights fluctuate and if you’re savy you can get a decent deal .

We saved a fortune by changing in Dublin and flying to Miami instead of Orlando. I am sure some may see the extra hassle of driving up from Miami to Orlando not worth it then fair enough. But when we looked it was nearly 3 times the price to fly directly to Orlando. And the savings will more than pay for our park tickets and a round or two of of golf.

There are various ways to be cute when flying to Orlando. Go via Atlanta (clearing there as well), Dublin, Iceland, various places. Some can really save you some money, time, aggravation. Not always the answer but certainly worth looking at.

For any help on this google The Dibb and find out everything Florida / Disney related.

3years ago we flew from Glasgow ( School holiday time ) and for the three of us it was costing us 2.2k for flights alone . The last 2 years we’ve flown from Manchester saving us around £700 . This year we’re flying from Glasgow but we’ve got a stop over of a few hours in Philly and we got the flights for 1200. I’m more than happy to save 1k for the sake of a few hours.
