Obsessed with looks

Its pretty typical even amongst competent golfers that the way things look are a major factor when buying, I myself would accept the ugliest club on earth if it helped me play better, though I dont think there are many clubs that give me the willies when I look at them.lol.

I think the guy in question is a fool for taking something he performs less well with, regardless of his standard of play. In the course of time he may well improve but there is a chance he could go down hill.

good players should be able to hit any club regardless of manufacturer..

The same could be said about hackers. They wont beat 80 retardless of the gear they use. So my credo: X Hit what most appeals to you !!

Not that my spelling is any better but I love the Freudian slip of the typo in the last entry. Unintentionally referring to people who won't break 80 as retardless! Good point though. I’ve seen new players drop hundreds of pounds on good looking clubs only to walk away from the game because they can’t play, when actually a first time golfer trying to hit tour quality blades. It doesn’t work like that!

To join the argument and deflect it in a new direction, I use Wilson Staff, previously clubs of little acclaim. Now that I have Paddy as an ambassador of the brand, does that add to the appeal and the allure just as well as the looks do?

Wilson have been making quality clubs for years. I had a set of Fat Shafts when they first came out and even though they were a cast club I could shape the ball with them and got good distance. Over time though I found the shaft a hinderence, not so much playing wise but looking down and seeing this scaffold pole of a shaft sitting there.
