Hi all does anyone have and use the golf specific G30 lenses in their Oakley glasses .
Now that the sun is getting low again I'm struggling to follow the ball in flight .
I've tried my normal sunglasses which can help but would like to hear the view of others

I had golf specific G30's in an old pair of Oakleys, from memory very good, in fact I still have them somewhere must dig them out and look like an England cricketer from the 90's again.

They're brilliant.

They don't cut out a massive amount of light, but just enough to stop you squinting all day, and I find the ball easier to see with them on. That goes for searching in the rough as well as watching the flight.

I probably look like a plank with them on but they're there to hopefully stop me getting migraines so I don't care what I look like.

I bought some Oakley Fast Jackets this summer and find the Black Iridium lenses great for golf. The all round vision is superb and they cost me £125

Cheers everyone. I've got a pair of flak jacket XLJ with the blue lenses which I wear in the car all the time but when I found the box in the garage yesterday the spare G30 lenses were still in the little bag and I was wondering whether it was worth swapping them over or not .
I tried them this morning for the 1st 3 holes but they do take getting used to

Does anyone else wear Oakley G30 lenses?

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and just order a pair as I suffer terribly in the wind with dry eyes and my eyes continually watering. I guess eyes are two precious to put them through abuse every time I play golf.

I swear by Oakley glasses. I've had a pair of Valve for about 7 years, can't fault them then I've just got a pair of Encounter with black iridium polarised lenses for christmas which are great in the low lying winter sun conditions.

Yet to try mine. Wish I could have got them for £125!! Damn you prescription lenses

Any idea if there is much difference between the G30 iridium, G30 Iridium polarised and the G40?

The polarised lenses reduce the amount of glare, I've got a pair and they're great. I suffer bad with hayfever and they protect my eyes well even though I look like a .... In them.

I find it really depends on how bright the conditions you are playing in. The G30 lenses are great in certain light, but not so good in others. I have a pair of XLJ's and do interchange the lenses if I can be bothered. The yellow ones are brilliant at dusk or even in mist or fog (I am not kidding). I think the newer frames with interchangeable lenses allow much easier and faster changing of the lenses.

I was looking at this last summer and e-mailed Oakley for more information regarding different light conditions and got this reply. Hope you all find it useful:

Thank you for your email. The G30 is the golf specific lens, this is suitable for medium light so for bright sunny weather conditions we would suggest lenses such as Gold Iridium, Positive Red Iridium, VR28 Black Iridium or Fire Iridium. These lenses all have increased contrast so will help with depth perception, shadows and lumps and bumps.
