I've just had notification that a post of mine had been quoted in the Rules section. In reality, it was not my post quoted, it was @tobybarker post #35.

I think it’s happened to me once. Suspect a post of mine may have been quoted, but the poster edited it out before I read it. Can’t think of another explanation.

That's what I was going to suggest - somebody quotes your post and hits Post Reply. Notification gets sent to you. Then they realise they've quote the wrong post so they can back and edit it, taking your quote out.
