I was just musing that this song reflected wars that were around in the 1960's and how nothing has changed, if anything they have got worse. I also like the song and it's relevance.

Jackson Browne has been one of the more critical 'modern' singer/songwriters - Lives in the Balance (1986) etc. Events of 9/11 might have put a damper on the commercial value of such songs though!
