Not lofting up?!

So...heading in this afternoon and having a go with their monitors etc to compare against my Covert. Unless there are significant gains there won't be a new shiny in the bag...

It will be interesting to see how you get on and the numbers that you produce.

Get yourself to AGMK and have a go mate :D they have the 14 degree in stock

14* I suppose with the right shaft but surely you lose distance as it must be launching nearer 20*

I thought it sounded a great club, and the fact pro's on tour were using 10.5* made it all sweeter.......maybe the stock shafts still launch to high

Mine is set to 14 degree with a launch angle between 17 and 18 degree and have gained approximately 20 yards in distance

Too many people getting caught in numbers and how they effect their ego/pride/pre-conceived ideas

If it works why worry about what it says in on the club, if it doesn't work then fine.

Nail hit firmly on the head. try it or don't. if it works, consider buying one. if it doesn't, then hey ho.

I am not sure this is the case... If it was 20* but was longer and straighter then my current one I would all over it like white on rice....

Ive got the covert vrs Driver and on a launch monitor 11.5 ○ was best as I was de lofting it with my swing but now ive had lessons and ny swing has changed 9.5○ is now best so im glad of the adjustability tbh.

Well, it was interesting. Lofting up, pure and simple, didn't work. For me anyway. Hit my own (10.5 Covert), and got the numbers, and then we started to play.

Started at 10.5 with a stiff shaft and got some numbers there before trying an X-Stiff as speed was around 100mph, and lofted up to 11 but it became quite inconsistent with dispersion and distances. Back to the stiff and tried hitching that up to 11, and again distance suffered. We then tried the Jetspeed with a stiff, but numbers were appalling so we headed back to the SLDR. To mix it up, we took my Covert and played with some lofts, but the shaft and head combination wasn't quite working. It would launch lower, so carried less distance, but had a lot more roll, and upping to 11.5 ruined any figures, so we went back to what gave the best figures in the first place...10.5 SLDR with a stiff Matrix Velox-T (which is the stock shaft in the Jetspeed apparently..)

Carry distances with this were all very similar (within about 4 or 5 yards of each other) compared to my driver which could see differences of 10-15 yards between strikes..but in all, carry distance was up by 12 yards. I bought it, letting the guy know I was going to take advantage of the 30-day money back guarantee so if I don't get on with it, I can return it for a full refund. If it doesn't go so well, I have a Matt Black Covert 2.0 coming in which I will take great pleasure in having a hit with!!

You only went up .5 ?

I found no difference until I went up to 14 - a good amount of extra loft

Was there a change in launch angle etc ?

Nope...didn't go up whatsoever. Stayed at 10.5. Launch angle with the SLDR 10.5 was around 16* whereas my Covert was launching at about 13, so there was a difference. When we went to 11*, my launch angle went up to 18*
