From a personal point of view i have found that this forum can sometimes be an intimidating place if you dont play off of single figures, you arent a member at a well known, famous or near famous club and your list of must play courses for the year doesnt include those on the Open rota or used by the European tour. (present or past)

For instance, i listed the Meon Valley as the nicest course i had played a couple of years ago but it was soon dismissively listed as a 'Marriott course.' I questioned this and was soon provided a list of denigrating characteristics. For those of us that dont play at courses featured in GM's Top 100 this can be seen as rather elitist.

Well I can assure you I don't play off single figures and never will, unless someone slips some tippex in me bag, me course is not famous or is any of the other points you have mentioned and I bet that goes for about 99% of everyone on here. But I do agree with what you say re it being intimidating at times. It helps if you are thick skinned or thick as pig ****. But we can't all be the same.

At the end of the day you have your point of view and yes sometimes you want to be enlightened, but there are ways and means of doin it. Usually Friday and Saturday night whilst bladdered is not one of those ways or means.
