So I've bought a couple of nice layering pieces for the winter, from sports section rather than golf section.
I guess they are designed with runners or cyclists in mind, but as far as I'm concerned we all have the same requirements when it comes to keeping warm but not sweaty!

Anyhoo- they both have a slot near the end of the sleeve seam to pop your thumb through which is great for non-golf activities- stops sleeve riding up and keeps your wrists warm ( a significant site of heat loss).

At the moment I am just rolling the excess fabric length back, but once i get into winter glove weather (soon!) I may try hooking my thumb through (under glove) to keep the draughts from my bony wrists.

Anyone do this or does it mess with your grip too much?

My UA jacket has the thumb holes but I roll them back. Wear the longer cuff length Macwets to keep my wrists warm. Does the job for me.

I don't find that myself as the material is thin. Being cold would probably cost me more shots than some extra fabric between my glove and hand but I don't notice,

Never heard of that. I would have assumed it was a fault, and got HID to sow it up.:o

Chellie, do you think they will affect the grip at all. Do they feel funny on the club with your hands in the holes. Liking the idea though

Homer, I don't put my thumbs through the holes and have them over my hands as for me there would be too much extra material between the glove and the club. I roll the extra material back. Mines a jacket though and not a base layer.

Same here and I can honestly say that I have never noticed that my wrists get cold. Will have to take more notice this winter.

I find that with conventional golf gloves there can be a gap between the glove and your sleeve.
The reason that one can lose a lot of body heat there is that the blood vessels are very close to the skin at the wrist.
Some winter gloves have a cuff that covers this bit.

I have dreadful circulation so my hands need to be kept warm.

I don't think I would pull this sleeve fabric over my thumb unless I am wearing two gloves, and wear the gloves on top

My Galvin Green base layer in particular has really long sleeves and covers most of my wrists so that is probably why I have not noticed the cold.
