Just put my name down for night golf on thursday! 730 tee off, we get a flashing ball!
Its going to be cold but sounds like a great crack!
Anyone ever played it?

Yep, great fun. Loved it, especially when my mate fell into a bunker he didn't see coming.

Some sad git will bring a torch. What's the point of playing in the dark if you are going to cheat.

We would need a gps tracking device in our ball, a St Bernard with a cask full of Rusty Nail, a snowplough and a mountain rescue exoert carying my bag as we have had ANOTHER 12" of white stuff today.

Yeah, good fun and something out of the ordinary. Not sure I'd really want to be out there in minus temps though!!!

Only took a few clubs but because it was pitch black, by the time we'd played 5 holes my playing partner coulcn't hit anything longer than a 9iron as he kept putting his clubs back in my bag.

Give your clubs a clean after too, the luminous green stuff normally splits out of the tees and goes everywhere.

Did it last year. It was good fun and we were limited to 5 clubs. Mind you it wasn't this cold and it was around fireworks night and raining, which spoilt it for one of our group as he never plays in the rain. We only played nine holes, but it was good for a bit of fun.

i can always remember as a kid we was cutting back through our local golf course (or along side it so to speak) and they were having one of these night comps on the halloween:

Flashing ball,
A few glowstick markers down the edge of the fair way,
a few glowstick markers taped to the flag
and a glowstick in the cup to help with putting.

Ive wanted to play one since then but the club dont hold it anymore, something to do with local kids nicking the glowsticks. Gutted!

I played 9 holes of night golf round our par 3 course once. It took a while to get used to the balls as they were lighter than normal - full shots didn't go as far as expected and putts went further. It was good fun though. :)

Had ours a week or 2 ago - much much harder than the year previously, because the moon wasnt out - this year it was SERIOUSLY dark.

And in fact the torch just makes it harder because your eyes dont get adjusted to teh light -if someone brings one tell them to put it away and you'll do better.

It's not too difficlut to swing - bloody impossible to put :)

Enjoy !

I saw there was a night course in sentosa island resort, hundreds of floodlights, warm nights but silly expensive.
Thelight up balls sounds like fun though, bet it's harder than it sounds.

Last time I played it I had matt black Cleveland irons, and a matt black putter. Couldn't see where the heck the club head was pointing. Lead to some bizarre shots. At least chrome reflects what light there is.
