Parmo, up here we have some fantastic muni's but the rogue ones are the 9 holers where anybody can pay £4, get on with jeans, sneakers and carry a polly bag with 4 clubs in it. The 18 holers have a completely different clientele as the people who pay for 18 holes actually fancy playing the game. When I was in the 9 holer muni the members were brilliant and you could trust 98% of them but the fly erses would always spoil it and as is always the case they give the clubs a bad name.

As a recent victim of golf theft (admittedly on a much larger scale...) I can only sympathise. From your club is just the lowest though.

As long as you don't end up forking out for replacement gear, all you can do is hope that they are waving the stolen item at the same time as a bolt of lightning is looking for a conductor - it's what I've been doing ever since!

Just been told that the CCTV has shown up six people leaving the locker room with bags (5 of them with hoods on) the chances of getting them back are very slim

Good luck with this mate - heavy hints for testing stuff seem to fall on deaf ears, strangely!

And as for the CCTV, I'd start exhaling now. We've had a few golf shops broken into in the area. In one case, they had CCTV footage, DNA evidence and caught them with the gear and it apparently was still not sufficient evidence to prosecute.

If you've got a shopkeeper in Maidstone wanting to go back to Lahore because he thinks 'it will be safer than here', then we truly know the scum have won and the honest folk are in trouble.

Also have a spare club box so if interested in I can stick it in the post almost straight away. No charge of course, just post it back once your claim comes through.

Hey thievery happens all over and sometimes from the unexpected.

When I was playing football some of the lads had odd items stolen out of the changing rooms, this happened on a few occassions and we thought someone was coming into the changing rooms when we were on the field, then one of the lads went back in for something and caught another lad from our team rifling through pockets. He had played with the same bunch of lads for five years. Needless to say, a good hiding later he was no longer part of the set up.

Thanks very much for the offer GB72. The VeloCT was one replacement I had in mind but think i will go without the driver for a while. My driving has been poor all season and particularly bad at our forum meet and again on saturday. Every time I drop down to my 3 wood i am much more consistent. Even made the comment on Saturday that I wish someone would take my driver out the bag and i would play much better. Thought it was a joke at first when i relised my driver was missing.
