I kinda like Nick, but I really don't think he is cut out for the TV analysts role. He has just told us that to reach a difficult par-5, it is easier to hold the green if you have a shorter approach, and you get a shorter approach if you hit a longer drive.

Nick, I have never been on the Tour, but I knew that already.

David Howell is a much better analyst. i think it is just a personality thing. To be fair, Sky does seem to valiantly try and offer work to pros who are no longer competitive. John Morgan seems like a nice guy but is a terrible analyst and Jean VdV isn't great either.

I just found myself wondering where the handsome, well-groomed young man who signed my programme at Wentworth was!

Sorry mate but I'll have to disagree, was only thinking the other day that he was quite good. Not sure about the Ronnie Kray look tho.

I agree with Ethan.

It is surely the role of the analyst to give us an insight that, due to his knowledge and experience.we cannot obtain for ourselves.

Looks like a person who has the worlds troubles on his back

He is a very good friend of the Pro at Beds and County

Seen him up there a few times getting lessons trying to find that touch again - think he has hit the Micheal Campbell moment - he has hit rock bottom now - he can now either get himself back into it again or just relax and enjoy the media work and just play for fun i think,.

Good Bootle lad. Good to see him on the reply. Wish he was back on tour though.

Yeah most definitely - seems a good pro who has just lost his game for a bit - hope to see him back also.

I have found his chat more to my liking!

As soon as they start about swing paths and clearing your left side etc my eyes glaze over and I switch off!

Some of the coaches are talking to scratch golfers and not to the likes of us! That the way it sounds sometimes!

i like Jean van de velde as a pundit. I'm sticking up for him.

sometimes the guys in the studio have a pretty thankless task having to endlessly fill in for u.s. ad breaks.

johnny miller i find unbearable though.

I find his comments fine, but I do agree with the comments about ageing. Maybe the stresses of lack of form have hurt him. I think the new haircut doesn't help!

I like him as a commentator and seeing him hit balls on shot centre. I prefer the likes of him, david Howell and Oliver Wilson to the other guys they get on there.

I thought Nick Dougherty was good on Sky this weekend, but the hairdo is pretty shocking. I thought he looked a little scruffy, like he needed some head and shoulders. But his commentary was good and I'd be happy for him to be on again.

David Howell is great to have on; for me he is up there as one of the best to listen to.

I like Mark Roe though - which seems to not be a popular opinion.

Monty - no thanks, he always looks so fake - grinning through gritted teeth type
Jean Van de Velde - no thanks, not my cup of tea
Peter Ooterhuis - no thanks, a tad monotone for me

I agree 100% but seems there are loads of mid/high handicappers on here that can't hit a ball unless their heads are filled with all the technical swing thoughts. ;)

Prefer Wilson and Howell if I'm honest. Didn't think the styling did him any favours. Personally I'd prefer Dougherty to get some form and get back on the tour again rather than being in a studio every week

This is a strange one... I live in Germany and have German Sky Sports, they really have very few adverts... There's just one German commentator with voice over, so no studio, or alternatively you can just switch to the US commentary.

You can tell when there is an advert in the US, although it's pretty subtle. Another commentator seems to fill in and when it goes back to the regular guys you occasionally see them talking about a shot as if live, which you saw a couple of minutes ago... Actually live (if that makes sense!)

So would say there's no need for the long pauses unless that's where it cuts to Faldo and co in the US coverage.
