So what's your plans, where you spending it, who with. Me and Missis T booked two nights in Manchester. That way spend it with the locals and watch City New Year's Day. The FA changing city's game v Liverpool screwed that up But Mr and Missis T are looking for somewhere to spend New Year's Eve in Manchester. Any suggetsions. Nice pub or meal would be fine. Clubbing til 12.05 then Jim jams no so fine.

My girlfriend and I are going to the New Year Hogmanay night at Wylam Brewery in Newcastle. Their beer is fantastic and every event I’ve been to there has been really well organised and loads of fun.

The Armenian taverna / restaurant on the north east side of Albert square is great if you like really good grilled meat, and things like humus, salads, and very good beer and wine

Never had a duff meal there
Just round the corner (effectively 2 lanes due north) is Bock Biere cafe. Really good and really strong beers from all over the place

I have no idea what you need to do to get in on New Years, but they are both the opposite of chain places.

At home with the kids tucked up in bed, myself the and Mrs watch a film see in midnight and off to bed. Not a big new years eve fan just find it overly expensive for a night out.

Hopefully disappearing to the caravan on the Saturday before and coming back New Year’s Day!
Fancy a quiet few days away to recharge

Mrs Imurg is working NYE and NYD - long days at that so I'll be at home, probably falling asleep in the chair until she calls to tell me she's on the way home and I'll get her dinner going.
Then crash out as I'll have been awake since 5
Rinse and repeat for NYD

Same as last year probably, off to the local micro pub until around 9.30 then back to the owners house with the rest of the patrons.
They had live music last time as most of the family are musicians, cracking night.

I dont think Ive stayed in for a new year in 30 years.

Millenium in a house party in Manchester, Penzance, Alnmouth, Ludlow, Buxton, Keswick over the last few years.

Best one was in Whitby in fancy dress (Demis Roussos), good pub crawl from 7.00 and ended up in Middle earth Tavern till 2.00 in the morning, dancing to Ska, Punk, new wave - The Jam, Madness, Tempole Tudor, Specials, Undertones etc.

Boss

Considering staying in this year and going out the Saturday instead after the Arsenal game. :(

great venue. going there in Jan for the Voices of Virtue who are a fantastic soul choir, and in Feb for The Lemonheads.

No idea yet (its not a peaceful island at new year, in fact if they coordinate all the fireworks to go off at the same time i'm sure we'd drift off a couple hundred yards)

No doubt some one will offer up a suggestion in the next couple of weeks to do xyz and that'll be that

I’m going to see Brian Fallon there on early February. 👍🏻

Fancied that, but it had sold out by the time I heard about it.

Have seen The Gaslight Anthem a few times, great band. Best time ever was in a tent at Glastonbury when Springsteen jumped up to join them!
