Just bought the new vokey wedges off my local pro. Did me a great deal, £140 with golf pride multicompound grips! And already got £100 in credit so £40! Get In!

But Ssshhhh, don't tell the girlfriend or she will kill me! hehe!

Thats pretty good, I was thinking £140 for a wedge is a little japanese style.

I am thinking of changing my wedges to one type, was thinking of the MD ones at £30 each but not 100% as I would like some titleist vokeys which I am sure would last me longer.

I love the old ones, they are quality, but I havent tried the new ones yet. I had clevelands before and didnt think they could be beaten but the vokeys are amazing. they get so much spin

I got rid of my old SM because the spin they produced was totally unpredictable, and not something I ever saw as any great advantage. I went the Japanese route, and have ended up with something I am happy with (although my bank manager might disagree).
I have just seen the new black nickel finish though, and that is sexy. I would defo go for that if I wanted to go down the silly spin route again.
Maybe they will do the Vokey 200's in that finish, that would be nice, although to replace my current wedges, they need to be pretty good.

Thats the reason i changed my 60 spin milled for the Vega.

With the spin milled the ball sometimes bounced up on landing then stop still, were as i would like it to hop forward then stop which i get with the smooth faced Vega

I not used the 60 on the course for ages just on the practise greens ready for summer, spin milled aint everything if the ball is hit first it will stop quick enough

I have to say my TM TP wedges do exactly the same as the vokey and produce a far more consistent response. In most cases it is one firm bounce and then check so it makes finding a landing point a lot easier and gives you confidence to trust the ball to react accordingly

this is a design feature suposidly to get more spin from the club.

I'm fairly certain that I have read that this is NOT true, and that a 'rusted' face will almost certainly have no better effect on the ball's spin than a normal face.

Personally, altho I love the look of the Oil Can finish, I'd absolutely hate the club rusting at all. For years, I had (still have) a Beryllium Copper Zing2 Lob wedge that has tarnished to deep brown colour, but didnt rust etc.
Rust would drive me NUTS.

The Black Nickel is soooooper sexy mind :p

I'm with you on this Chris - I can't stand a rusty club and I don't care if it gives more spin or not.

The worst are the Callaway X-Tours. Gorgeous when you take the wrapper off but when they rust OMGawd they look like someone's dragged them through a muddy puddle or something.

Black Nickel or Satin Chrome for me.

Nonrustable!!!!!!!

My last set of wedges Mizuno black ox rusted like hell the problem with rusty wedges they end up looking like a patchwork quilt, with a silver face and sole and rusty colour everywhere else they looked a mess after i bit so i went with chrome

Interestingly, YES! Golf don't approve of rusty wedges and "claim" to have de-bunked the myth.

I like my TM Satin (equally as good as a vokey) and have always liked Mizuno wedges too.

I also have a comedy/gimmick wedge, forged, milled and almost like cheating out of the sand!!!! :)

Can't be doing with the "let's all worship Titleist thing"....each to their own....use what you feel good about...
