New Titleist ProV

The latest version of the ball which is the one that supposedly now deosn't infringe any other makers copyright will be due on the shelves in March. I think if you look on the main GM pages under equipment there is a piece there.

Guys, it is still just a golf ball, and to us, will make no difference at all, whether the pro's like it or not. My guess is we won't be able to tell the difference.

Oh, yeah, the current ball doesn't infringe any patents either, it was changed yonks ago, and no one noticed any difference.

I have already seen the GM links, and what I am most intrigued about...

The possibility of the 'current' model being sold off for £20 a dozen :D Do you think there will be opportunities to pick some up 'on the cheap', or will continued demand for the best ball in golf allow retailers to sell them all off with a little discount?

I hope it's the first one.

I'd heard yesterday that Callaway were pursuing Titleist in the courts over ball designs from before they owned Top Flite, about a Top Flite design Titleist had lifted.

The person telling me about it was being vague. But who it was telling me, I have no reason to doubt, lets say.

I think the whole copyright infringement saga has added to Titleists next release, to be honest I like the titleist brand (even if they are owned by the same people as pinnacle) but it wont stop me trying other balls, I have in my bag at the moment, no less that 4 different soft balls which I am trying out.
I have the usual Titleist Prov1x's, Cally Tour ix, Bridgestone B333s and a softy Srixon that I cant remember the name of zur-c or s or the likes. So far I like the looks of the Tour ix but they do mark easily, next time out I intend to try the Bridgestones.

I might try the new Pro V if I can get a freebie sleeve somewhere but otherwise I'll stick with the original or the TP black. If the current model start to come down to silly money per dozen I might by some.

Not going to hapopen guys, as I have said, the current ball has been changed yonks ago to be non infringing, so it is not going to be sold off at silly money. Dream on.
